CodeCompiler is designed to run almost entirely in your browser. The files, folders and code you create are saved locally using your browser's localStorage, on your own device. We do not upload your projects to a server or database, and we cannot see or access the contents of your projects.

Clearing your browser data, using a different browser, or using private/incognito mode will remove locally stored projects, since nothing is backed up on our servers.

2. Code execution via third-party services

When you run code in a language other than HTML/CSS/JavaScript (for example Python, Java, C++, Go, etc.), the code you are running, together with any input you provide, is sent to a third-party public code-execution API in order to compile and run it and return the output to you. We do not control how long that third-party retains this data; avoid submitting sensitive or personal information as part of code you choose to execute.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the purposes described below:

Google Analytics — to understand how visitors use the Service (pages visited, approximate location, device/browser type, and similar usage statistics) so we can improve it.
